December 4, 2006--See the following message from Ohio Right to Life on today's vote on HB 239, Creating State Policy Favoring Childbirth Over Abortion.

BREAKING NEWS! OHIO HOUSE BILL 239 PASSES THE OHIO HOUSE!

Just a short time ago, on Thursday afternoon around 2:30 PM, the Ohio House passed House Bill 239 by a vote of 64 - 25. Despite attempts by opponents to misrepresent the bill's impact, our pro-life Representatives held firm and stood up for women and their unborn children.

Thank you for all of your phone calls and emails. It really made a difference.

Next the bill must be passed by the Senate and then signed by the Governor.

Stay tuned to your email or the PFLI website to help continue the success of this bill and for further info.

HB 239 would: (main sponsor: SCHNEIDER, M) prohibit the use of public funds or facilities for

nontherapeutic abortions, proscribe public employees acting in the scope of their employment

from performing or inducing a nontherapeutic abortion, and to declare that it is in the public

policy of the state to prefer childbirth over abortion to the extent that is constitutionally

permissible.
