*26 Pro-Life Groups Unite in Nationwide Protest Against Birth Control Pill*

*Washington, DC (01 June 2010)* -- American Life League and 26 other 
pro-life organizations have joined together for "Protest the Pill 
Day:The Pill Kills the Environment" on June 5

At the national event launch at 11 AM outside of Planned Parenthood of 
Metropolitan Washington, DC, Dr. James Joyce, MD; Jennifer Giroux, RN; 
and pro-life activists Marie Hahnenberg, Michael Hichborn and Katie 
Walker will testify to the harmful effects birth control has on our 
environment and our health.

The event will draw attention to the environmental and health hazards of 
the nation's most commonly used contraceptive method -- the birth 
control pill -- which turns 50 years old this year.

"Scientists are discovering 'intersex' fish in various areas around the 
world," said Hahnenberg, The Pill Kills project director. "Studies in 
the United States, from California to Maryland (including the Potomac 
River), have revealed that some male fish have been feminized by the 
vast quantities of synthetic estrogen in the water."

Participating organizations say it is time to expose what the 
pharmaceutical industry has been hiding.

"It's about time women were made aware that the birth control they are 
taking could have negative consequences on their health and on the 
environment," said Judie Brown, president and cofounder of American Life 
League."They deserve the truth -- regardless of political pressure to 
conceal it."

Jennifer Giroux, executive director of HLI-America, has been a 
registered nurse for 24 years. Through personal witness, pro-life 
activities and various political efforts, Giroux has worked to educate 
women about the deadly effects of contraception.

Dr. James Joyce has 21 years of experience in family medicine in 
Minnesota. He earned a degree from Creighton University School of Allied 
Health and is a Fertility Care Center medical consultant for southwest 
Minnesota.

Hichborn and Walker will testify to the harmful effects birth control 
has on our environment and our health not to mention the potential for 
fatal effects on preborn children

Dedicating a seven story, 78,000 square foot abortion facility in 
Houston, TX, those present inside the mammoth PP facility at its 
official opening offered up in unison a blasphemous prayer

place built for the purpose of brutally killing innocent babies as 
"sacred and holy ground."

Referring to itself as "The Planned Parenthood Prevention Park," the 
facility is killing preborn babies up to 16 weeks gestation, with plans 
to commence late term abortions up to 20 weeks in the near future.

"Planned Parenthood is so much more than people think, and it is all of 
our job to tell everyone that it is not just associated with a certain 
word...,"  said an unidentified speaker on the news report.  Calling the 
largest abortion mill in the nation "sacred and holy ground" and then 
refusing to utter the "A" word, Planned Parenthood falls deeper and 
deeper into the dark abyss created by its own web of deception.

Kudos to Houston Coalition for Life and the many protesters who were on 
hand for the opening of this horrific edifice to evil, praying and 
letting the world know that these babies will not die alone and 
forgotten, and sending a very loud and clear message that Planned 
Parenthood will not kill preborn babies without being challenged; that 
pro-lifers will stand in prayerful watch outside the gates of this 
hellish place until the abortion monster closes its doors and leaves town.

As health reform regulations begin to take shape, Planned Parenthood has 
begun a quiet campaign to ensure that birth control is counted among the 
free preventive services that health insurers must cover under the 
Affordable Care Act.
Birth control barely came up in the health care reform debate, brushed 
aside by the more heated debate over abortion language and coverage. But 
with numerous religious groups opposed to contraceptive use, this issue 
is all but certain to become a flash point as implementation moves forward.

After securing ballot initiatives in Colorado and Mississippi, the 
nationwide effort to establish state constitutional rights for unborn 
babies is focused on Montana, where Planned Parenthood and the ACLU are 
pushing back.  The lead organization in the grass-roots effort, 
PersonhoodUSA, has until June 18 to secure a spot on Montana's fall 
election ballot for a state constitutional amendment defining an unborn 
baby as a person.
