*Planned Parenthood exploits suffering Haitians to grab funding*
Even as we see heart-rending scenes of Haitian parents working with
their bare fingers to unearth their children buried in rubble,
surrounded by the moans of the dying who cannot be uncovered, Planned
Parenthood is shamelessly trying to grab the donations that are so
desperately needed to help the devastated population, so that it can
propagate its cycle of "reproductive health" that ends in depopulation.
In the wake of unmitigated human loss of life and the accompanying pain
and suffering brought on by the devastating earthquake in Haiti,
International Planned Parenthood Federation issued a call for donations
<http://ss.all.org/link.php?M=110638&N=602&L=4168&F=H> to its Haiti
project, PROFAMIL.
On its website, IPPF emphasizes PROFAMIL's role as a provider of "sexual
and reproductive healthcare," and says that "[d]uring 2005, the
organization distributed over 600,000 condoms
<http://ss.all.org/link.php?M=110638&N=602&L=4198&F=H> through its
network of clinics, mobile health units, and community promoters."
So while hundreds of thousands of Haitians are suffering the loss of
their children, parents and loved ones, and are in dire need of medical
care and the most basic necessities of life such as water, food and
shelter, Planned Parenthood is "reaching out" -- to grab the donations
that should be going to provide real help to these poor suffering souls
and diverting it to their population control programs.
What else would we expect of the organization that kills more preborn
children than any other in the world?

Ohio Abortion Clinic Follows National Trend and Closes
<http://www.operationrescue.org/archives/ohio-abortion-clinic-follows-national-trend-and-closes/>

Youngstown, OH -- After 34 years in the abortion business, the Mahoning
Women's Center in Youngstown, Ohio, permanently closed its doors on
January 12, 2010. The owner has retired and the building will be sold.
The closure leaves the community of Youngstown abortion-free.
"This is such great news for the people of Ohio and all Americans. It
means that lives will be saved," said Operation Rescue President Troy
Newman. "We know from experience that when abortion clinics close, many
women who would otherwise have opted for abortion will instead happily
keep their babies or release them for adoption."
The closure follows a well-documented national trend. In 1991, there
were nearly 2,200 abortion clinics, but today there are 712. Since 1991
over two-thirds of all abortion clinics have permanently closed. That
trend reflects the shifting attitude of Americans toward the pro-life
position....[story cont'd at link...]

*TIME IS RIPE FOR CONSCIENCE RIGHTS*
Catholic League president Bill Donohue explains why both the House and
Senate health care bills are inadequate:
While the House bill is better than the Senate bill on the issue of
federal funds for abortion, neither adequately provides protection for
the conscience rights of health care workers. It is important to
recognize that one of the issues which hurt Martha Coakley in
Massachusetts was her adamant rejection of conscience rights: she
effectively told Catholic doctors and nurses that they either perform
abortions or look for another job. This didn't go over big with
Catholics, as well as with many others, in the Bay State.
President Obama told the graduating class of the University of Notre
Dame that he fully supports conscience rights for health care workers.
That won him great applause. But there is no evidence that he is working
to secure these rights in either the House or Senate bill. He invoked
the name of Rev. Martin Luther King the other day in pushing for health
care reform, but he never cited what King had to say about conscience
rights.
King strongly believed that "an individual who breaks a law that
conscience tells him is unjust, and who willingly accepts the penalty of
imprisonment in order to arouse the conscience of the community over its
injustice, is in reality expressing the highest respect for the law."
King's plea, which is an application of Catholic teaching on natural
rights, needs to be heeded by Obama and the Congress. Rather than
forcing Catholic health care workers to break the law---which they most
certainly will do, if pushed---it would be much more prudent to simply
guarantee their conscience rights in these bills.
King understood how important these rights are. It's time those who lean
on his legacy adopted them as well.

Dear Friends:
We need your help, so please be sure to read our Action Items at the end
of this message!
We are excited about our new YouTube video reporting on the study, Dolle
et al. 2009, in which U.S. National Cancer Institute scientist Louise
Brinton <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSmma0COO1E> and Dr. Janet
Daling of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center appear as co-authors.
Dolle's team reported *s**ignificant risk increases for women with
abortions and users of oral contraceptives nine months ago*, but the
National Cancer Institute and cancer fundraising businesses have made no
efforts to issue nationwide warnings to women.
<http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSmma0COO1E>
The spin from RHReality.org, the marketing arm for the tobacco industry
- I mean, the abortion industry - last week was this. There is "nothing
new" about the Dolle team's findings concerning abortion. Dolle's team
had to include abortion among what researchers listed in their paper as
"known and suspected risk factors," not because abortion really is a
risk factor for breast cancer, but only because abortion had been
included in the 1990s studies (if you can believe that!).
The trouble is that Brinton and the National Cancer Institute (NCI)
workshop in 2003 alleged that all earlier retrospective studies (using
on women's self-reports of abortion histories) were not reliable. In
other words, the Dolle team in 2009 relied on data from two 1990s
studies that one of its authors, Dr. Brinton, and the NCI had previously
claimed were unreliable!
Dolle and her colleagues examined 897 specimens of cancerous breast
tissue saved from women who participated in Daling's and Brinton's
research in 1994 and 1996. They used new technology to test these
specimens for triple-negative breast cancer, which was first described
in medical journals in 2007.
Dolle's team tested the specimens for triple-negative breast cancer and
matched them with reproductive history. They found a statistically
significant 40% risk increase among study subjects with abortion
histories for all types of breast cancer, regardless of it being
tripe-negative or not.

Houldsworth as narrator) is available here:
