*Book Shows Why Abortion for Young Rape Victim Is Likely to Harm, Not Help*

Life Site News
The news that an 11-year-old girl in Mexico who became pregnant through
rape, allegedly by her stepfather, has decided to continue her pregnancy
has caused a lot of controversy in recent days. Some abortion advocates
have argued that the girl in Mexico is too young to continue the
pregnancy and should have an abortion, with some even suggesting that it
be done despite her expressed wish to have the baby. But a book about
women who became pregnant through rape or incest - including young girls
in situations similar to this - suggests that, rather than helping the
girl recover, abortion is more likely to cause her further psychological
harm.

Immaculate Conception in Washington D.C. this Sunday, Bishop Edward
Slattery of Tulsa, Oklahoma, called attention to the pain of countless
post-abortive women who now grieve the loss of their child - pain that
is largely ignored or silenced by the pro-abortion lobby and media.

"Hundreds of thousands of patients are killed in the world each year in
this manner, and no police or district attorney will act to investigate
or prosecute."

These are the alarming words of Ron Panzer, founder and executive
director of Hospice Patients Alliance <http://www.hospicepatients.org/>,
an organization dedicated to preserving the original mission of hospice
care and exposing the pervasive problem of "quiet euthanasia" in the
hospice industry . . . [Click for more]

*Two Convicted of Denying Access to Abortion Clinic*

NY Times
For the first time in New York City, federal prosecutors have used the
Freedom of Access to Clinics Entrances Act to secure a conviction in a
case where access was blocked to a clinic that provides abortions. The
prosecutors used the statute, signed into law in 1994, to charge two men
who stood in front of an entrance at the Margaret Sanger Center, a
clinic operated by Planned Parenthood at the corner of Bleecker and Mott
Streets. The men, Richard R. Dugan and Theodore A. Puckett, were each
convicted on Monday of a single count of violating the act after a
one-day bench trial conducted in Manhattan by Judge Robert W. Sweet of
United States District Court. Each man faces a maximum six-month
sentence and a fine of $10,000. Sentencing was scheduled for June 10.

discontinue the CCHD collection in the fall of 2009, said Tony DeGol,
the diocese's secretary for communications. Bishop Kevin Rhoades of
Harrisburg also decided in the fall to substitute the annual CCHD
collection with a "Matthew 25 collection," said Peter Biasucci, the
diocese's assistant director for Catholic Charities.

Local authorities in Zurich are asking questions about the assisted
suicide facility Dignitas, after 300 urns containing human ashes were
found in Lake Zurich this week. The urns bear the logo of the Nordheim
crematorium, which is used by Dignitas. Former Dignitas employee Soraya
Wernli, told media that dumping urns into Lake Zurich was a standard
procedure of the facility. It is illegal in Switzerland to dispose of a
large number of urns containing human remains without a commercial
license, a criminal offense that carries a sentence of up to three years
in prison.
