Arrested at DC Cathedral at Red Mass: 67-Year-Old Catholic Woman --
Video Available

WASHINGTON, Oct. 5 /Christian Newswire/ -- Joan McKee, age 67, was
arrested at St. Matthew's Cathedral in Washington, DC at yesterday's Red
Mass.

On Sunday, October 4, about 20 pro-life advocates gathered at St.
Matthew's Cathedral in DC before the "Red Mass" to rebuke pro-abortion
judges and politicians for receiving the Body and Blood of Christ while
their hands are covered with innocent blood.

They also plead with Bishops and priests to withhold communion from
those who promote child-killing, and are therefore in open defiance of
the Church, and causing great scandal (see Canon 915).

Joan McKee attempted to enter Mass, wearing a shirt that says
"Pro-Life." She was not permitted to enter, unless she removed or
covered the shirt. After complying, they still denied her entrance, and
arrested her when she insisted that she be permitted to go to Mass. Miss
McKee is a regular attendee of the Cathedral.

Joan McKee states: "I was treated shamefully, and denied my right as a
Catholic to go to mass. They would not let me in originally because I
was wearing my pro-life shirt, which I wear to the Cathedral regularly.
After I covered the shirt, they still kept me out, and then arrested me
when I attempted to enter. The policeman told me repeatedly that the
Church told him that none of us pro-lifers were to be allowed in. This
is a disgrace."

/*Recession fallout: Fewer women having babies*
/Birth rates in the United States fell 2% in 2008, the biggest drop in
nearly four decades, and that trend is expected to continue. A September
23 study from the Guttmacher Institute suggests that the timing is not a
coincidence; the recession may be to blame, as women factor economic
anxieties into their decision about having children.
